Answering to Negative Yes-No Questions

Unlike in English, in which the answer to both affirmative questions and negative questions are the same, in Japanese, responses are based upon the exact question not the answer.
POSITIVE QUESTION:

明日に会うことが出来ますか。
Ashita au koto ga dekimasuka?
(Can you meet tomorrow?)

はい,出来ます。
Hai, dekimasu.
(Yes I can.)

or alternatively:
いいえ、出来ません。
Iie, dekimasen.
(No, I cannot.)

NEGATIVE QUESTION:

明日に会うことが出来ませんか。
Ashita au koto ga dekimasenka?
(Can’t you meet tomorrow?)

はい, 出来ません。
Hai, dekimasen.
(That’s right, I can’t.)

Or alternatively:
いいえ、出来ます。
Iie, dekimasu.
(No, I can.)
