Negative ば-Form (なければ) CLAUSE1 + CLAUSE2 as “If not CLAUSE1, CLAUSE2”

Since the negative ない is an い-Adjective, the negative form of the ば-Form is なければ, which can be applied to verbs, adjectives, and nouns altogether.

Example(s):

今日宿題をし始めなければ明日徹夜する必要があるでしょう。
Kyou shukudai o shihajimenakereba ashita tetsuya suru hitsuyo ga aru deshou.
(If I don’t start my homework today, I will probably have to pull an all-nighter tomorrow.)

彼がうるさくなければ気が合うことができると思う。
Kare ga urusakunakereba ki ga au koto ga dekiru to omou.
(If he isn’t loud, I think we’ll be able to get along.)

学生じゃなければこのイベントに来られない。
Gakusei jyanakereba kono event ni korarenai.
(If you aren’t a student, you cannot come to this event.)
