Pre-ますForm 1VERB + ながら + 2VERB as “do VERB1 while doing VERB2”
When expressing that the subject of the sentence is doing two actions at the same time, the Pre-ますForm VERB + ながら + VERB construct can be used; however there are some conditions to be met. In this form, the emphasis of the subject’s actions is always placed on the second verb, the action denoted by the first verb (the complementary action) must only last within the amount of the time that the second verb (the primary action) lasts (thus, verbs such as 来る and つく cannot be used), and both verbs (actions) must be performed and controllable by the same person (thus, verbs such as 死ぬ, 好む, and 忘れる cannot be used).
