Welcome to Anime Vocabulary, our #WatchAnimeWithoutSubtitlesChallenge series! 「Anime Line of the Day/Anime Vocabulary」 Haikyuu!! Second Season #09.

Vocabulary List:

拝啓 (はいけい) – Dear (Mr., Mrs., Sir, Madam, To Whom It May Concern, etc.)
涼しい (すずしい) – cool, refreshing
折り返し点 (おりかえしてん) – turning point, turn-around point
衝突 (しょうとつ) – clash, collision, conflict, quarrel
態と (わざと) – purposely, on purpose
技 (わざ) – technique, move, art, skill
最終日 (さいしゅうび) – last day, final day
貫禄 (かんろく) – presence, dignity
所望 (しょもう) – desire, request, wish
遠征 (えんせい) – expedition, away games

拝啓 (はいけい) – Dear (Mr., Mrs., Sir, Madam, To Whom It May Concern, etc.)
*When used in letters, usually followed in the end with 敬具 (けいぐ) to mean “best regards” or “sincerely, yours”
Example:
拝啓お母さん様
Haikei okaa-san-sama
“Dear Mom,”

涼しい (すずしい) – cool; refreshing
Example:
東京は涼しい場所と言えど東北より暑いです
Tokyo wa suzushii basho to iedo Tohoku yori atsui desu
“Tokyo has cool weather but it’s hotter than the Tohoku region”

折り返し点 (おりかえしてん) – turning point; turn-around point
Example:
もうすぐ折り返し点
Mou sugu orikaeshiten
“It’s almost the turning point”

衝突 (しょうとつ) – clash, collision, conflict; quarrel
Example:
日向と影山くんの衝突から約三週間
Hinata to Kageyama-kun no shoutotsu kara yaku sanshuukan
“It’s been about three weeks since Hinata and Kageyama’s fight”

態と (わざと) – purposely, on purpose
Example:
今の。。。態とですか?
Ima no… waza to desuka?
“That just now… was it on purpose?”

技 (わざ) – technique, move, art, skill
Example:
必殺技
Hissatsuwaza
“Special move”

最終日 (さいしゅうび) – last day, final day
Example:
今日が最終日だから頑張ろう
Kyou ga saishuubi dakara ganbarou
“Today is the final day, so let’s give it our best”

貫禄 (かんろく) – presence; dignity
Example:
ペナルティをこなす姿に異様な貫禄
Penalty o konasu sugata ni iyou na kanroku
“They have a strange kind of dignity to them when they take their penalties”

所望 (しょもう) – desire; request; wish
Example:
我、最高のトスを所望す!
Ware, saikou no toss o shomou su
“I desire the greatest toss there is!”

遠征 (えんせい) – expedition, away games
Example:
最初の遠征から比べたら、皆何かしら変わってるはずだ
Saisho no ensei kara kurabetara, mina nanikashira kawatteru hazu da
“Compared to our first away games, everyone should have changed one way or another”
